Children supported by benefactors

Poverty, hunger and prostitution are commonplace to the slum children of Limuru. These children and their families struggle to survive through each day.

The phenomenon of the urban poor is typified in Limuru’s shantytowns where children become the innocent victims of a breakdown in the social and moral fabric of such poor communities.

Many girls are forced into a life of prostitution from a young age, often for just a few shillings. It is shocking to see these little girls suffering from sexually transmitted diseases and boys engaged in the addiction of glue sniffing to help stave off hunger and cold.

The missionary congregation of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart are managing a boarding home for these children and provide them with much needed love, together their daily needs.

The SHARE Foundation is supporting the children and assists in covering their living expenses and their education. The Foundation depends on benefactors to support the children either individually or collectively.
